Upendra Madhav is an Indian screenwriter, director, and dialogue writer known for his contributions to Telugu cinema. Over the years, he has worked on several successful commercial films, gaining recognition for his writing in major box-office hits such as Baadshah, Dookudu, Aagadu, and Bruce Lee – The Fighter.

 

 

Early Career

Upendra Madhav entered the Telugu film industry with the aspiration of becoming a director. He initially worked under filmmaker Priyadarshini Ram as an assistant director on the films Manodu and Toss. During this phase, he also directed several corporate and government-related films, gradually sharpening his storytelling and filmmaking skills.

 

Although he aimed to build a career in direction, his journey took a significant turn when he began contributing to the writing departments of big-budget films. His role as an associate writer for the blockbuster Dookudu opened the door to further screenwriting opportunities, eventually establishing him as a sought-after writer in mainstream Telugu cinema.
