Urvashi Rautela

Biography

Born on 25th February 1994, Urvashi Rautela is predominantly a Bollywood actress and model. Her first appearance as a lead actress was in the film Singh Saab The Great. 

 

She won Miss Universe India 2012 and Miss Tourism Queen of the Year in 2011, which was held in China. She was also the winner of Miss Asian Super Model 2011 in South Korea.

 

Urvashi was born in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand, India to Manvar Singh and Meera Singh. Since childhood, she has been trained in five dance forms namely, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Belly Dance. 

 

In her school days, Urvashi was a national basketball player but gave up her sports career for modeling. She first walked the ramp at Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week and Lakme Fashion Week.

 

Urvashi debuted with the 2013 romantic comedy film Singh Saab The Great, co-starring Sunny Deol and Amrita Rao. Directed by Anil Sharma, the movie opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. 

 

After having a successful launch in Bollywood, Urvashi made her Kannada film debut in Mr. Airavata in 2015. Directed and written by A.P. Arjun, the movie also starred Darshan and Prakash Raj in the lead.

In February 2016, she appeared in Divya Khosla Kumar`s romantic drama film Sanam Re. The movie, which along with her, also starred Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam, received mixed reviews at the box office. 

 

Urvashi`s other release in the same year includes the adult comedy Great Grand Masti, opposite Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Aftab Shivdasani.

She has also featured in Yo Yo Honey Singh`s international video album "Lovedose" which was released in October 2014. 

 

Her other notable works include Great Grand Masti (2016), Hate Story 4 (2018), Pagalpanti (2019), Virgin Bhanupriya (2020), The Legend (2022) and Dil Hai Gray (2022).
