Varun Sood
Biography
Varun Sood (born April 1, 1995) is an Indian actor, model, and former VJ, widely recognized for his participation in multiple reality shows such as MTV Roadies, MTV Splitsvilla, Ace of Space, and Khatron Ke Khiladi. He made his acting debut with Ragini MMS: Returns (2019) and has also appeared in films and TV series like Karmma Calling (2024), Call Me Bae (2024), and Potluck (2023).
Early Life
Varun Sood was born in Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal, and grew up in Delhi. His family has a strong connection with the Indian Army, with both his grandfather and father serving in it. Initially, Varun planned to follow in their footsteps but later shifted his focus to sports. He was an avid basketball player and competed in shot put, even representing at the national level. Varun completed his primary education at Army Public School.
Personal Life
Varun Sood's personal life gained significant media attention due to his relationships with fellow reality TV stars. In 2017, he was dating Benafsha Soonawalla, but they broke up after she participated in Bigg Boss 11. In 2018, he began dating Divya Agarwal, and the couple worked together on MTV Roadies, Ace of Space, and Ragini MMS: Returns. However, their relationship ended in March 2022 after four years together.
Career
Varun's career began as a fitness trainer before transitioning to becoming an MTV VJ. His breakthrough in the entertainment industry came through his participation in reality shows, where he garnered widespread attention and recognition. He participated in several seasons of MTV Roadies (including season 12 and season 17), MTV Splitsvilla (season 9), Ace of Space (season 1), and Khatron Ke Khiladi 11.
In 2019, Varun made his acting debut with Ragini MMS: Returns (ALTBalaji) as Rahul, where he starred opposite Divya Agarwal. This marked the beginning of his acting career, and he continued to explore more acting roles in the years that followed.
Varun's film appearances include a special role in Karan Johar’s Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022) as Gaurav, alongside Prajakta Koli. In 2023, he appeared as Jacob in season 2 of Potluck on SonyLIV.
In 2024, Varun played the role of Ahaan Kothari in Karmma Calling on Disney+ Hotstar, alongside Raveena Tandon and Namrata Sheth. He also starred in Naam Namak Nishan on Amazon Prime Video, opposite Helly Shah, and in Call Me Bae with Ananya Panday.
Additionally, Varun hosted the show Reality Ranis Of The Jungle on Discovery Channel.
Varun continues to evolve in the entertainment industry, expanding his career into acting, hosting, and other aspects of the media world.
