V. A. Shrikumar Menon

Biography

V. A. Shrikumar Menon is an Indian advertising filmmaker, feature-film director, and businessman associated with Malayalam cinema. Born in Palakkad, Kerala, he entered the advertising industry in 1993 and went on to direct more than 400 commercials for various brands. He is also the chairman and managing director of Push Integrated Communications.

Menon made his feature-film directorial debut with Odiyan (2018), a Malayalam supernatural fantasy drama starring Mohanlal as Odiyan Manikyan, alongside Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier. The film is based on the folklore surrounding the Odiyans of Kerala, who were traditionally believed to possess shape-shifting abilities.

Before entering feature filmmaking, Menon became known for his advertising work and directed campaigns featuring prominent personalities including Amitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Manju Warrier.

He was also announced as the director of a planned film adaptation of M. T. Vasudevan Nair's Randamoozham, with Mohanlal attached to play Bhima. The project ultimately did not proceed after Menon and Nair parted ways over creative differences.

His known film credits include Odiyan (2018) as director and Thekku Vadakku (2024) as producer. IMDb also lists Mission Konkan among his projects.

Menon remains particularly associated with Odiyan, which marked his transition from a successful advertising career to feature-film direction.
