Vijayashanti was born on 24 June 1966 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, into a Telugu-speaking family. She is the daughter of Kamakshi and T. R. Srinivasan. From a young age, she showed an interest in acting and the performing arts, which eventually led her to pursue a career in cinema.

Vijayashanti is a prominent Indian actress, often referred to as the "Lady Superstar" of Telugu cinema. She made her acting debut as a child artist and later appeared in lead roles across Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films.
