Biography

Vikas Bhalla (pronounced [ʋɪkaːs bʱəlla], born 24 October 1972) is an Indian film, television actor, singer, and producer known for his versatile contributions to the entertainment industry. Trained in Hindustani classical music at Allahabad University under Pandit Jialal Vasant, Bhalla successfully built parallel careers in acting and music.

He made his film debut in 1995 with Ramesh Modi’s Sauda, playing the lead role of Deepak opposite Neelam. The film was inspired by the Hollywood hit Indecent Proposal and marked his entry into Hindi cinema. During the late 1990s, he appeared in several films and gained popularity through music and video albums.

Bhalla transitioned to television in 2001 with Apne Paray, where he portrayed the son of veteran actor Rajesh Khanna. He went on to feature in many popular television serials, including Tum Bin Jaaoon Kahaan, Karishma – The Miracles of Destiny, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, Shanno Ki Shaadi, and Uttaran. He also showcased his musical talent as a participant in Zee TV’s singing reality show Star Ya Rockstar.

Alongside acting, Bhalla established himself as a successful singer. He released albums such as Hai Dhuan, Awaara, and Mehek Teri. His debut track “Hai Dhuan” became a chartbuster and earned him widespread recognition. In 2007, he lent his playback voice for the song “Paagal Si Saari Leheren” in the film Marigold. He later gained major popularity as the playback singer of the hit song “Po Po” from the blockbuster Son of Sardaar (2012), featuring Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Sanjay Dutt.

Expanding into production, Vikas Bhalla founded Rat Race Entertainment in 2008 and later became the director and co-founder of IndoWest Films in 2013. He further increased his public visibility by participating as a contestant in the ninth season of the reality show Bigg Boss 9.

With a career spanning films, television, music, and production, Vikas Bhalla remains a multifaceted and respected figure in Indian entertainment.
