Vincenzo Pirrotta
Biography
Vincenzo Pirrotta is an Italian theatre director and actor who has worked extensively in theatre, cinema, and television. He graduated from the Istituto Nazionale del Dramma Antico (I.N.D.A.) and went on to collaborate with several of Italy’s leading theatre directors and performers.
As a theatre artist, Pirrotta has presented his productions at major European and international theatres and festivals. His work is known for its strong connection to Italian dramatic traditions and expressive stage performances.
Pirrotta has also built a successful film career. He appeared in Rehearsal for a Sicilian Tragedy, directed by John Turturro and Roman Paska, and later featured in films such as We Believed, The First King, The Traitor, and Koza Nostra. He portrayed Benito Mussolini in The Bad Poet (2020), further demonstrating his ability to take on historically significant characters.
On television, Pirrotta has appeared in series and productions including Io non mi arrendo, The Hunter (Il Cacciatore), and Adesso tocca a me. With his experience across stage and screen, he has established himself as a versatile figure in contemporary Italian performing arts.
