Virginia Rodrigues
Biography
Virginia Rodrigues is a talented actress and a passionate photographer who rose to fame with her powerful acting in the 2019 Kannada movie Mahira. Virginia was born and brought up in Mangalore in Karnataka to Vincent Rodrigues and Hilda Rodrigues.
She pursued her B.A degree from St. Agnes College, Mangalore. Apart from excelling in studies, Virginia has also established herself as the Student Cabinet President during her time in college. Virginia, as a person, would tackle a problem from a different perspective and has been a compassionate leader.
After her graduation in 1997, she started associating herself with theatre troupes. Theatre has been a life-changing event in her life, as she mentions it as her true calling. She continued to act in plays and went on to perform with such big names as Anmol Vellani, M.S. Sathyu, Veenapani Chawla, etc.
Her famous theatre works include The Afterlife of Birds and Treadmill. Along with theatre plays, Virginia did short films and commercials. She has starred in more than 50 short films before making it big in the entertainment industry.
Virginia had a gradual improvement from theatres to short films to finally films. It was in 2017, after two long years in theatre, she decided to give it a try in the film industry. Her first feature film Samarppanam, a Malayalam movie, hit theatres in March 2017.
She portrayed the role of a police sergeant, Sarvajaya, in the film. After the release of the film, she took a break and focused on theatre dramas. Before Samarppanam, Virginia played a character in the Malayalam film Marupadi in 2016.
