Biography

Vishnuvardhan (born 6 December 1976) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer, and former child actor who primarily works in Tamil cinema.

He began his career as a child actor before transitioning behind the camera. A long-time associate of Santosh Sivan, Vishnuvardhan made his directorial debut with Kurumbu. Although the film did not perform well commercially, it marked the beginning of his journey as a filmmaker.

 

 

He gained recognition with a series of successful films, including Arinthum Ariyamalum, Pattiyal, Billa, Panjaa, and Arrambam. These projects established him as one of the prominent directors in the Tamil film industry, known for his stylish storytelling and strong narratives.

Vishnuvardhan made his Hindi film debut with Shershaah, produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions. The film received widespread acclaim, and his direction was highly appreciated, earning him major accolades, including a Best Director award at prominent film award ceremonies.
