Biography
Woo Mi-hwa, born on February 2, 1974, is a South Korean actress who has built a distinguished career in theatre, television, and film. She began her professional acting career on stage in 1998, playing Petra in a Korean production of An Enemy of the People. Since then, she has performed in more than 60 theatre productions.
Her acclaimed stage performances include Three Sisters and Dear Elena. She has received several acting honors, including the 2011 Seoul Theater Festival Female Acting Award, Best Actress at the 2011 Korea Acting Awards, the 2013 Korean Drama Awards Best Actress award for Three Sisters, and the 2017 SACA Best Actress Award for Dear Elena.
Woo began gaining wider recognition on television with supporting roles in Life (2018), followed by appearances in Sky Castle, Doctor Prisoner, and Black Dog: Being a Teacher. She later appeared in Voice Season 4, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021), Bloody Heart, Link: Eat, Love, Kill, and The First Responders.
Her role as Lee Myung-shin, Hye-jin's stepmother in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, became one of her best-known television performances. With her extensive theatre background and natural screen presence, Woo Mi-hwa has established herself as a respected and versatile character actress in South Korea.
