Yasha Ramchandani

Biography

Yasha Ramchandani is a film editor working in the Indian Film Industry. She studied film editing at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Her student diploma film, 'Kaun Kamleshwar?' won the Satyajeet Ray Foundations's Best Short Film award at the London International Film Festival in 2013. 

 

She started her career as an on-location editor on films like Go Goa Gone, Udta Punjab, and Pernicious. Since then, she has edited feature films, web series (fiction and non-fiction), and several ads. 

 

Her most recently released films include Article 15 and Thappad, both of which received huge popular and critical acclaim. Yasha was nominated for Best Editing at Filmfare and all other mainstream Indian awards for Article 15 (2019) as well as at the prestigious Asian Film Awards for her film Thappad (2020). 

 

She won the Filmfare Award for Best Editing for Thappad and the FOI online award for Best Editing for Article 15 and Thappad, two years in a row. Her upcoming works include Bob Biswas, Anek, and Aranyak, all slated for 2021.
