Yoo Young Eun
Biography
Yoo Young-eun is a South Korean television director known for her work on Korean dramas and television specials. She began her career at KBS, working as an assistant director before becoming a main director in 2018. Her early assistant-directing credits included Descendants of the Sun, Queen of Mystery, Manhole, and Queen of Mystery 2.
She made her directing debut with the KBS Drama Special Too Bright for Romance (2018) and subsequently directed Dreamers (2018), Socialization: Understanding of Dance (2019), and How to Buy a Friend (2020).
Yoo gained wider recognition for directing the historical romance drama Bloody Heart (2022), starring Lee Joon, Kang Han-na, and Jang Hyuk. The series follows the political and romantic conflict between King Lee Tae and Yoo Jeong in the Joseon Dynasty.
Her later work includes the Netflix series Can This Love Be Translated? (2026), starring Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung.
Through her work across historical dramas, youth stories, romance, and television specials, Yoo Young-eun has established herself as a versatile Korean television director.
