Biography

Born in the famous village of Tarkihe near Ludhiana and raised in a musical family, the son of the great maestro Sh. Kuldip Manak (also known as the Kalyian Da Baadshah) who started his glorious musical journey in 1968.

My father has recorded hundreds of superhit folk songs and gained success worldwide with legendary hit albums and features in Punjabi movies.

Having my father as my true inspiration and teacher, I aspired to learn and create a folk sound accompanied by the ethics my father taught rev in raag sangeet.

I first started of participating and singing at annual functions and school competitions at an early age where I received much appreciation and love, then I traveled to Australia to achieve a diploma in Sound Production and Engineering.

On return to the Punjab, with my new found knowledge and teachings from father, I went forth and recorded my debut album called "Billo Mera Dil Lay Gayi" which released in October 2000 on T-Series produced by Kuljit. My debut was well received worldwide and set a stepping stone for me to start a recording career.

I have also recorded various songs for multi projects including New Year Programs, Vaisakhi programs and other NRI projects allowing me to expand and share my vision with Punjabi people living outside India.
2007 gave me a chance to brighten my horizons with an opportunity to work with,' India's pioneering Record Label SPEED RECORDS which brought meta collaborate with Gippy Grewal on the super hit song "Gabru'. This lead to a further collaboration with British Asian Music Producer Aman layer on "GROUNDSHAKER 2" which featuring superstar artists such as Jazzy B, Saleern, Nirmal Sidhu, Apache Indian, Hard Kaur and others.
I have also featured on Tarli Digitals forthcoming album Project:Rehab which is releasing imminently worldwide.

Now its time to get back down to business and share with you a new vision by th name of "JIGREY PANIABIAN DE" a project I have worked on and dedicated all rIly energy to featuring the production of the young dynamk music producer BHINDA AUILA out now worldwide.

My sound is Folk Bhangra with a fusion of western beats and rhythms; I take time and consideration in collating lyrics with meaningful and thought provoking subjects. I cater for all ages and bring together the essence of Punjabi folk music as did my father before me. For me its not about earning popularity and money; it's about building on the respect my father gained and with his blessings to keep Kuldip Manak alive forever in my songs and production.

The Punjabi Music industry is getting bigger by the day but I think we are losing the culture and ethics of folk sangent; it is our moral duty to create and bring music which will be appreciated by today's generation of listeners same time but at the same time, not lose our virsa and not learn and to respect the art.

My message to my peers In the music Industry is to learn the art of sangeet and give respect to our glorious Punjabi music culture, I for one will forever be my fathers student and with his blessings aspire to better myself for the loyal fans of Punjabi music.
