Biography

Zach Galifianakis is an American comedian, actor, writer, and producer known for his distinctive deadpan humor, unconventional comedic style, and memorable performances in film and television. He became an international star through The Hangover trilogy and has also earned acclaim for dramatic and independent roles.

Early Life

Zachary Knight Galifianakis was born on October 1, 1969, in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, United States. He attended North Carolina State University but left before completing his degree. He subsequently moved to New York City and began performing stand-up comedy.

Comedy Career

Galifianakis developed a distinctive comedic style built around awkward characters, absurd situations, improvisation, and dry delivery. He performed stand-up in clubs and appeared on television programs before gaining wider recognition.

He became particularly well known for Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis, a satirical interview series in which he deliberately asked celebrities uncomfortable and ridiculous questions. The program became an important part of his public persona.

Film Career

He played Alan Garner, an eccentric and unpredictable member of a group of friends whose bachelor-party trip to Las Vegas turns into a disastrous mystery. The film became a major box-office success and made Galifianakis a mainstream comedy star.

He reprised the role in The Hangover Part II (2011) and The Hangover Part III (2013).

Due Date

Galifianakis reunited with Todd Phillips for Due Date (2010), starring opposite Robert Downey Jr. He played Ethan Tremblay, a strange aspiring actor who becomes an unwilling travel companion to Peter Highman during a chaotic journey to Los Angeles.

The film showcased Galifianakis's ability to combine outrageous comedy with more emotional character moments.
