Zaheeda (born Zaheeda Hussain) is an Indian former actress who worked in Hindi cinema during the late 1960s and 1970s. She is best known for her performances in romantic dramas and action films and for appearing opposite several leading stars of her era, including Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, and Amitabh Bachchan.

 

 

Early Life

Zaheeda Hussain was born in India into a film-oriented family. She is the niece of veteran actor Nargis and belonged to the well-known Mohyal family connected with the Hindi film industry.

 

 

Career

Zaheeda made her Hindi film debut with Anokhi Raat (1968), directed by Asit Sen. She gained recognition after starring opposite Dev Anand in Prem Pujari (1970). She went on to appear in several notable films, including Gambler (1971), Adhikar (1971), Anokha Daan (1972), Loafer (1973), Kahani Hum Sab Ki (1973), and Dharmatma (1975).

 

During her career, she worked with many of the leading actors of Hindi cinema, such as Dev Anand, Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna, Feroz Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan. Although her film career was relatively brief, she earned recognition for her graceful screen presence and memorable performances.

 

 

Personal Life

Zaheeda later married actor Kamal Siddhu and retired from the film industry after her marriage, choosing to lead a private life away from the spotlight.
