Biography

Annu Kapoor made his debut in the film Mandi directed by Shyam Benegal in 1983. His career has spanned nearly 30 years including a distinctive presence in Bollywood cinema, television serials, and reality game shows. 

He is best remembered for hosting the singing show Antakshari, produced by ZEE TV. His performance as an obsessive-compulsive Sperm Clinic Doctor in the recently released Vicky Donor has met with a lot of praise from the critics as well as the audience.

Brother of writer, actor, and director Ranjit Kapur. ( Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron). From his first marriage, he has children with actresses Grusha Kapoor, Ishan Kapoor, and Insha Kapoor. He then married actress Madhumalati Kapoor. From this marriage, he had a son Misha Kapoor.

 Madhumalati debuted with Annu Kapoor in the movie Adharshila. She previously was married to Anupam Kher in the early 80s. Ranjit later married actress Archana Mishra ( from theatre and Television). From this marriage, they have a son named Vanya Kapoor.

Was credited as Anil Kapoor in his first film. He later changed it to Annu Kapoor to avoid confusion with Anil Kapoor'.

Former brother-in-law of actor Om Puri. His sister, director Seema Kapoor was married to Om Puri. There is another Seema Kapoor who is also an actress. Many people confuse both of them together due to both having the same name.

Brother of actor, writer Nikhil Kapoor (Party and. Haat -Weekly Bazaar). Nikhil has a daughter named Nikita Kapoor Malhotra.
