Biography

Kathryn Hunter was born on April 9, 1957, in New York, USA. She is an actress, known for The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), and Orlando (1992). She was previously married to Marcello Magni.

 

Her appearance in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) was the last by a US-born cast member in any of the "Harry Potter" movies. 

 

Hunter was one of only two US-born cast members (Zoë Wanamaker in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was the other) to have spoken lines that were not dubbed.

 

 In "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)", Verne Troyer's lines (as Griphook) were dubbed by Warwick Davis.

 

She was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1991 (1990 season) for Best Actress for her performance in "The Visit", at the Royal National Theatre.

 

Was born with a twin sister.

Graduated from RADA.

 

An Associate Member of RADA.

Also works on excellent stage performances with her husband Marcello Magni.
