Niketh Bommireddy, professionally known as Niketh Bommi, is an Indian cinematographer celebrated for his work in Telugu and Tamil cinema. His innovative visual storytelling has earned him critical acclaim and recognition in the film industry.

 

Early Life and Education

Niketh was born and raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He pursued his education at Montfort Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School and later attended SSN College of Engineering in Kalavakkam. To further refine his filmmaking skills, he studied at the New York Film Academy.

 

Career

Niketh began his career in the entertainment industry with the web series Black Sheep in 2016, produced by Stray Factory. He made his feature film debut as a cinematographer with the Telugu action thriller Yuddham Sharanam in 2017, starring Naga Chaitanya. His work on this film showcased his potential and garnered attention in the industry.

 

In 2018, Niketh worked on the Telugu film Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, a comedy-drama directed by Tharun Bhascker, and the Tamil film U-Turn, a thriller directed by Pawan Kumar. His versatility was evident as he adeptly handled different genres.

 

The year 2020 marked a significant milestone in his career with the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara. His exceptional cinematography in this film earned him the Best Cinematographer award at the Filmfare Awards South. The film received widespread acclaim for its storytelling and visual appeal.

 

In 2021, Niketh worked on the short film Bloom, which was part of the anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai. The film was well-received for its emotional depth and visual storytelling.

Niketh's recent works include the Telugu film Ante Sundaraniki (2022), a romantic comedy directed by Vivek Athreya, and the Hindi film Sarfira (2024), a remake of Soorarai Pottru. He is also working on the Telugu film 35 (2025), further solidifying his presence in the industry.

 

Personal Life

On August 20, 2022, Niketh married Mercy John, a dubbing artist and actress, in Chennai. Their partnership extends beyond personal life into their professional endeavors, enriching the Indian film industry.
