Suresh Urs
Biography
Suresh Urs is an Indian film editor who has edited over 700 films in South India. Apart from movies, he has also edited documentaries and television shows. Over the years, he has worked with prominent directors like Bala, Girish Karnad, T. S. Nagabharana, Mani Ratnam, Shankar Nag, Girish Kasaravalli, and P. Vasu.
He made his debut as an editor with the television serial Malgudi Days (1986). His most important work can be seen in movies like Roja (1992), Thiruda Thiruda (1994), Bombay (1995), Iruvar (1997), Dil Se.. (1998), Kandukondain Kandukondain (2000), Ramana (2002), Vasoolraja M.B.B.S (2004), Chandramukhi (2005), Ghajini (2005), Sillunu Oru Kadhal (2006), Naan Kadavul (2009), Shivalinga (2016) and Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu (2016).
He received the National Film Award for Best Editing for his work on Mani Ratnam's Bombay. His 2017 projects include Gipsy Rajkumar's Ayyanaar Veethi and P. Balamurugan's Thangaratham. He is also associated with the 2017 Kannada movie Maarikondavaru directed by K Shivarudraiah.
In 2018, he edited the Shyamprasad's Malayalam drama Kammara Sambhavam, starring Dileep and Siddharth in lead roles.
