Biography
Veera Shankar is an Indian film director, writer, and producer known for his work in Telugu and Kannada cinema. He made his directorial debut in 1997 with Hello! I Love You, starring Srikanth and Sadhika, which was based on the popular novel Vennello Aadapilla by Yandamuri Veerendranath. The film won the State Award for Best Editing.
Following this, he directed films like Premakosam and Vijaya Ramaraju, both of which won three State Awards. His breakthrough came with Gudumba Shankar, a family entertainer starring Pawan Kalyan.
In Kannada cinema, he achieved success with Puneeth Rajkumar’s Namma Basava, which ran for over 100 days in multiple centers. He also directed Anthu Inthu Preethi Banthu and later produced and directed the Telugu film Mana Kurralle, released on 1 January 2015.
Veera Shankar served as the President of the Telugu Film Directors Association from 2014 to 2018, further establishing his influence and leadership in the industry. His career reflects a dedication to storytelling, with notable contributions as a director, writer, and producer.
