Biography
Best known for his frequent collaboration with Yash Chopra, Manmohan Singh is an acclaimed cinematographer in Bollywood and a popular director in Punjabi cinema. Having started his career in the film industry with Chandani in 1989, which marked his maiden collaboration with the yesteryear acclaimed director, Yash Chopra, he subsequently worked with the director in several of his films including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), and Mohabbatien (2000).
His other notable film credits as a cinematographer include Kash Aap Hamare Hote (2003), Sarhad Paar (2006), and Ik Kudi Punjab Di (2010).
The two-time Filmfare Award winner, Manmohan, in his illustrious career, also won the Zee Cine Award and Sansui Viewers Choice Award for Best Cinematographer. Apart from his brilliant works as a cinematographer, Manmohan Singh has also directed and produced many films, mostly Punjabi cinema.
His maiden directorial venture was the Punjabi film (1993) after which he did not direct any film for nearly a decade and made his comeback to direction with Jee Aayan Nu (2003). His other notable film credits as a director include Yaaran Naal Baharan (2005), Mitti Wajaan Maardi (2007), Munde U.K. De (2009), Ajj De Ranjhe (2012), Jatts In Golmaal (2013) and Aa Gaye Munde UK De (2014).
