Biography

Shweta Tiwari (born 4 October 1980) is a popular Indian television actress best known for her iconic role as Prerna Sharma in Ekta Kapoor’s hit show Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She gained national fame in 2010 when she won Bigg Boss, becoming the first woman to win the reality show. Over the years, she has also appeared in several other reality programs, including Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, and Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Apart from reality TV, Shweta has acted in many successful serials such as Parvarrish (as Sweety), Begusarai (as Bindiya), and Mere Dad Ki Dulhan (as Guneet Sikka). Her most recent major role was the lead character Aparajita in Zee TV’s Main Hoon Aparajita.

Born in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Shweta married actor Raja Chaudhary in 1998, and the couple had a daughter, Palak Tiwari, in 2000. Their marriage ended in 2007 after years of reported domestic abuse and alcoholism on Raja's part, including physical violence and misconduct on Shweta’s part.

She later married actor Abhinav Kohli in 2013, and they had a son, Reyansh, in 2016. However, this marriage also faced serious issues, with allegations of domestic violence surfacing in 2019. Shweta filed a complaint against Kohli for harassing her and her daughter, leading to his brief police custody. The couple separated the same year.
